Ask the Coach with Head Coach Jason Wilson: District Semifinals

Each week we sit down with Coach Wilson for a quick Q & A

Ask the Coach with Head Coach Jason Wilson: District Semifinals

Eagle Eye: What have you worked on the most this week?

Coach Wilson: The main thing defensively is flying to the ball and making sure we break down on tackles. On offense we really worked on defensive line shifts and making sure we know who to block.

EE: How big of a role does special teams play in the playoffs?

CW: Special teams are always a big key to any game.

EE: Are you worried about tackling at all this week?

CW: Yes that is the reason we worked on it a lot this week.

EE: How do you feel we fare on both sides of the ball?

CW: I think we match up well on both sides. They have a decent line and a lot of good skill guys but I think we still match up.

EE: Do you think that the home field advantage will help us at all in this game?

CW: It’s always nice to have home field advantage but anyone you meet in the playoffs will be a quality team and it is tough either way.

EE: Does the fact that they are the number 1 scoring team in the state worry you at all?

CW: They are really explosive so we definitely need to make them drive the field on is and eliminate the big plays.

EE: Do you feel that we will be able to adjust to any new plays or formations they try against us?

CW: Yeah I feel that we have done that well the last couple of weeks. The same goes for this game.

EE: How do you feel there front 7 is compared to our front 7 on the line?

CW: They are big up front but we match up front and it will be a good game to see where our front 7 are at.

EE: Are they any key things we need to do to come away with a win?

CW: Stop their offense and be able to drive the ball for our offense.

EE: How much do think the team is willing to give in order to win and get back to another district championship game?

CW: I think things are clicking for us at the right time and I definitely think the team wants to get back to Mansion Park.
