Another easy victory for Tyrone girls tennis vs. Huntingdon

The small team that could racks up another win

As cloud coverage increased, Huntingdon’s chance for a win decreased. Under stormy skies, the mighty four of the Tyrone and Bellwood girls tennis team were no match for the Huntingdon Bearcats winning 5-2.

Tina Hollen’s match was child’s play. With powerful serves, she destroyed her opponent in straight sets 6,1 and 6,2.

Marlena Wagner stole her first set 6,0 but the second set posed a setback.

“It’s a head game. you can’t predict another win because anything can happen. Simple mistakes can cost you a game,” said Wagner, who won her second set 6,3.

Bellwood’s Hannah Kelsius lost, but didn’t go down without a fight.

“She had some lucky shots, and I give her props. Altogether, there were some good rallies,” said Kelsius.

The final score was 4,6 and 3,6– Huntingdon’s only playing victory over Tyrone.

Erika Voyzey’s match was short and sweet bringing a win 6,2 in both sets.

The double matches were also a piece of cake for the Tyrone team.

Hollen and Wagner struggled to get properly placed hits, but taking advantages of serves and playing a strong net game, the duo won their 8 game pro-set 8,4.

Sister telepathy wasn’t enough for the twins on Huntingdon’s second doubles team. Tyrone’s duo was able to communicate properly which racked up the points. Kelsius and Voyzey also dominated, giving up one game. Their final score was 8,1.
