A Week In The Lady Eagles Nest

The Lady Eagles had a two challenging games back to back this week against Hollidaysburg and Penns Valley.

This was a big confidence booster for the girls. Hollidaysburg is a very good team and we needed this win for our seeding in playoffs. I am very excited to see what our girls do next

Tyrone 3, Hollidaysburg 1

The Lady Eagles won a huge game on Monday night against Hollidaysburg. By winning this game, it gives the Lady Eagles an extra point towards their placing in playoffs.

In the first set, the Lady Eagles came out slow and had little energy. With a strong outside hitter, Hollidaysburg took the first set 25-22. The second set however, the Lady Eagles had more confidence and determination. The girls won 25-20. The third and forth set the Lady Eagles dominated Hollidaysburg winning 25-23 and 26-24.

Senior Kylee Gooding lead with 28 kills, 2 blocks, 17 digs and 10 service points. Junior Brianna Foy had 9 kills, 16 digs and 7 service points. Junior Ebonee Rice had 33 digs and Sophomore Mattie Cherry has 52 assists. Both had 9 service points.

Penns Valley 3, Tyrone 1

After a big win at Hollidaysburg, the Lady Eagles were ready to face Penns Valley in their nest with confidence.

In the first set, the Lady Eagles hung along with Penns Valley trying to slow down their best hitter. The Lady Eagles were up 7-3, but that gap started to close when Penns Valley went back to serve. Penns Valley took the first and second set 25-20 each.

The third set however, the Lady Eagles started to slow down their outside hitter. It came down to the very end, but the Lady Eagles took the nail bitter set 27-25. Penns Valley then took the forth set 25-16.

Gooding lead with 14 kills and 20 digs while Cherry had 22 assists. Rice had 26 digs and 7 service points. Sophomore Miranda Goodman, Bauer, Cherry, and Gooding had 6 service points each.

The Lady Eagles are now 7-4 overall and 6-4 in the Mountain League with 6 games left in their regular season.
