2014 Tyrone High School Graduate Nathan Sechrist is currently traveling the United States and beyond as a drummer, guitarist, and vocalist. Sechrist has a passion for music, and throughout his high school career covered many concerts and music festivals for the Eagle Eye. He is currently making plans for Warped Tour and a potential tour in Japan.

Sechrist’s musical passion lasted throughout high school. “After graduating, I was happier about my future in music,” stated Sechrist. “It’s really great that I can apply the things I learned into my lifestyle.” Sechrist says that Tyrone does an excellent job of encouraging students to pursue their dreams and pushes every student to their full potential.

Sechrist’s passion for touring with bands has allowed him to  visit 40 out of the 50 states and plans on touring in the last ten soon. “Traveling is extremely fun,” explained Sechrist. “I would always see these cool places on TV and now I get to go to them and experience them.” As well as North America, Sechrist is planning a tour with several musicians in Japan.

Sechrist performs in a variety of bands, acting as a drummer, bassist, and guitarist when the need arises. Sechrist has played anywhere from a thirty-minute set in the afternoon to a two-hour long grind in the middle of the night, sometimes with bands he hasn’t even heard of.

Sechrist has plans to attend Warped Tour, an annual musical festival consisting of rock, metal, and rap bands that travels the United States. In his free time, Sechrist can be found jamming in his room, tuning guitars, or out in the wilderness. Hiking and cave exploration are some of Sechrist’s favorite pastimes.
