Tyrone Lady Eagles cruise to 73-45 win over the Clearfield Lady Bison

Tyrone Lady Eagles beat the Clearfield Lady Bison 73-45 on Friday with sophomore Kasey Engle scoring an impressive 36 of the 73 points for Tyrone.

Engle began her scoring rampage with a deep three pointer early in the first quarter. She remained hot for the entire game and came within four points of the school record for points scored in a single game, which is 40, held by Nicollee DelBaggio in 1998.

We moved the ball well against Clearfield and we took good shots,” said Tyrone head coach Luke Rhoades, “and Kasey shot the ball well.”

Engle led all scorers with 36 points including seven 3-point goals.

“I thought we played well as a team and worked the ball fast. We pushed the ball down the court and got great open looks,” said Engle.

Christine went in for two points at the first quarter buzzer with Tyrone up 24-14. Christine then opened the second quarter with an impressive drive to the basket for two more, setting the tone for the rest of the game. Christine had 23 points total, with three 3-point goals.

“We battled well in a game that was a make it or break it,” said Christine, “It helped put us in a good spot. We worked the ball well and hit our open looks.”

Ryan and Glenny were the leading scores for the Lady Bison with a total of 24 points.

The next game for the Lady Eagles will be Central Holiday Tournament on December 26.
