The Tyrone boys varsity basketball team has currently moved up to second in unofficial rankings of AA schools by the D6 Sports Network, a local website focusing on PIAA District 6 sports.

“Tyrone is riding a current seven game winning streak and they are really playing good basketball right now,” said D6 Sports editor Jim Hammett.

Tyrone was ranked fourth in the previous D6 Sports Network rankings on January 27.

In the most recent D6 Sports rankings, Blairsville is ranked first in AA, with Tyrone second, Bishop McCort third, Penns Valley fourth and Richland fifth.
