Senior Pooky Soellner started game two of the doubleheader

The Tyrone baseball team lost three games to end last week. The Golden Eagles got beat 13-3 at the hands of the Trojans of Mount Union and lost a double header against Bellefonte.

The Golden Eagles got 10 run ruled on Thursday night against the Trojans. Drew Hunter started for Tyrone and got the loss and Zack Soellner came into relieve.

“We struggled to start out the game, and that is what happened through most of the game,” said infielder Zack Soellner.

On Friday the Golden Eagles lost a Double Header conference game against a superb Bellefonte team. In the first game the Eagles got man handled 20-5. Pooky Soellner started pitching in the first game, and was relieved by Hunter Jackson. Soellner got the loss.

In the second game The Golden Eagles had a better showing, only losing 4-2.

Tristan Lingafelt pitched all of the second game.  The game was called for darkness after only six innings.

“If we would have played as defensively the first game as we did in the second game, we would have had a better out come in both games,” said sophomore Brian Gunter.

The boys have a scheduled conference game Monday away at Bald Eagle at 4:00p.m.
