The Look Ahead: Clearfield Edition

It’s finally here folks, Clearfield week. This rivalry is one of the biggest showdowns in district 6. The outcome of this game will be determined by the little things, with both teams being very strong up front and have a lot skill in the back.

Clearfield has a lot of skill all over the field. They are bringing back a lot of their starters from last year which also gives them some experience. Their offense is high powered behind their big and aggressive front five. They take advantage of their size up front and are not afraid to pound the ball. This is a concern for the Tyrone defense. They will have to use their quickness and speed to fly to the ball and gang-tackle to make sure that the skilled runners of Clearfield have limited yards after contact. Another asset that the Bison have is their wildcat formation. Ryan Lesser is the wildcat quarterback; he is a physical runner that is not afraid to take a hit, but he also has some moves. The Eagles will have to focus on all of the different aspects that this diverse offense brings to the table.

For Tyrone, their offense this week will have to focus on stopping the pressure that the Clearfield front eight bring. Clearfield brings most of that pressure from the weak side. Tyrone’s offensive line will have to step up their game to slow them down. With such a rush, Tyrone will look to methodically move the ball down the field to tire out the boys up front.

Overall, this game will come down to the battle in the trenches. Whoever can control the battle up front in this game will come out with the victory. The weather might have a slight impact on the game with cold weather and a chance of rain throughout the game.

This game should be a true test for your Eagles. But if you want to see who comes out of this one with a W, you’ll have to make your way to Lesser Field for a 7 o’clock kickoff this Friday.
