Eagle Eye: What was your funniest or most interesting moment as a teacher?

Adam DePiro: My favorite day every year is “Tie Day.” I always liked ties but one year I received a just over a hundred ties from a retiring professor. So I did the only thing that I how to do; I turned it into a lesson. So at the end of the year all of my students learn the history behind fine neckwear and learn how to tie a tie, it’s awesome!

EE: What was your most memorable moment as a teacher?

AD: My most memorable was the Pep Rally before the State Championships in 2011 when I was the MC.

EE: Where did you go to college?  What degrees do you hold?

AD: Shippensburg University, Mount Aloysius College, and Saint Francis. I have Bachelor’s Degree in History/Political Science and I also Teaching Certification from the Mount and a Masters in Education from St. Francis.

EE: What is your favorite/indulgent food?

AD:  Pizza that I made, any other pizza doesn’t hold up. Margarita is my favorite.

EE: What would you be doing if you were not teaching?

AD: I did a lot of things before I landed in teaching job. I was a pizzaman, steel yard worker, a warehouse worker, a cookie factory employee, a paint salesman, and a bouncer. This job is sweet and I wouldn’t do anything else. If I couldn’t work will would travel the world observing different cultures and writing books. I would probably build a lot of Legos, they are also awesome!
