Lady Eagles score 6 in second half to beat P-O 6-1

The Lady Eagles cruised into their second victory of the season in an exciting match at home on Tuesday against the Lady Mounties of Philipsburg.

In the first half, the Lady Eagles gave up a goal to Cheyenne Cowfer on a pass from Hayley Hayward from Philipsburg, to give the Lady Mounties’ the lead 1-0.  That was the only goal of the first period in what initially looked like a low scoring affair.

Going into the second half, a spark lit under the Lady Eagles and they churned out six goals in the second half to seal the win.

Bellwood senior Raegan Plowman and Bellwood freshman Riley D’Angelo led the team with two goals each. Bellwood senior Marissa Panasiti had a goal and an assist and senior Hannah Bowser added another goal.

Bellwood freshman Briana Reiter, sophomore Elina Lure, junior Audrey Bowser, and freshman GG Bowser each had an assist to contribute to the Lady Eagles’ first Mountain League conference win of the season.

The Lady Eagles will be back in action Saturday, September 12th, against the Lady Dragons at 10:00am at Central’s High School.
