Lady Eagles Pull Out Tight Victory Against Central Cambria

Sophomore Sydney Shaw’s career high 29 points catapulted Tyrone forward in a back and forth 54-47 victory over Central Cambria. The atmosphere in the gym was nothing short of electric Thursday night in nail biter.

Central Cambria’s girls led for the majority of the game but not by anything convincing. The Lady Eagles were able to keep up with the Red Devils’ fast pace and just wound up getting clutch performances from key players at the right moments.

Lexi Cannistraci was a dominant force defensively as usual forcing a few Central Cambria turnover and even stuffing the Red Devils in the paint on a few separate occasions. Shaw made these defensive stops worth while by scoring 11 of her 29 points in crunch time.

“We were down and it felt good to help the get back and win” said Shaw after her 11 point run.
