The Lady Eagles put up a good fight against the Central Dragons on October 20 but lost in straight sets 0-3. Tyrone was strong on offense and Central was strong in serving. Defense was a weak point throughout the game.

Junior Torrie Foy led the Eagles with seven digs and juniors Lea Crofcheck and Emily Fusco accumulated three digs each. Overall, the team had 14 digs within the five sets.

I was sad to see the seniors play their last game because I just started and I have gotten really close with them. It will be sad to see them go, but I know they are going to do great things

Seniors Alexis Cannistraci, Maddie Veit, and Shaniah Lowery led the team with three hits each.  Crofcheck, added two kills, had an overall kill score of 11 points. The seniors were strong on offense with the help of junior Lea Crofcheck, who had nine assists.

In attempt to gain more points, the girls served two aces within the five sets. Cannistraci and Crofcheck both served one ace.

The freshmen, sophomores, and juniors stayed after school to decorate the gym for senior night with black and orange streamers. They were excited to do this for their seniors because they were sad that the seniors were leaving.

The seniors received shadow boxes with their jerseys from freshman year and flowers from family members. Pictures were taken in front of the net right before the varsity game.

All seniors started varsity for their last home game and each did well. Cannistraci had three kills and one ace, Veit had three kills and one dig, and Lowery ended with three kills. Even though this was their last home game, the girls did not give up and played strong on offense.

“I was sad to see the seniors play their last game because I just started and I have gotten really close with them. It will be sad to see them go, but I know they are going to do great things,” said Logan Johnston.

The Lady Eagles played the Phillipsburg Mounties on Tuesday October 18. They lost all three games played. The first game was 25-16, the second game was 25-10, and the third game was 25-11.
