Tyrone’s Youth Action Network (YAN) will hold its 3rd annual 4D Movie Night on Friday March 31st from 5:00-7:00. The Movie Night will take place in the high school cafeteria with the doors opening at 4:45. The Movie Night is free and open for all children 4th grade and under and their families.

“[This event] gives kids an opportunity to have fun and interact in a safe environment. It also allows YAN to interact with the community in a super fun way,” said YAN Vice President Jenna Chronister.

This year’s movie is Zootopia and is to be filled with animal themed handouts and snacks.

YAN members will act out scenes from the movie Zootopia to interact with the audience and bring the movie to life.

“[My favorite part is] definitely acting out the scenes for the kids. This is the third year I’ve been doing it, and it’s so fun seeing the kids smile and have a good time,” Chronister said.

Children should wear PJs and bring a sleeping bag and pillow to get all cozied up for the movie treat.

“[YAN is] trying to build bridges between the school district and the community and between the elementary and high schools.  We want everyone to come together in a sense of true community.  And, we hope that the younger children won’t be so intimidated by the high school when they transition here,” said YAN adviser Mr. McNitt.

Last year, YAN had 125 people attend the event. This year, the group hopes to attract at least 200 people.

“I really hope this year’s event is the best one yet. [The kids] should expect lots of animal themed handouts and snacks, and a great time watching some great action! And they should expect an overall great experience filled with fun,” said Chronister.
