Eagle Eye Promposal Contest: Invitation to Prom

Eagle+Eye+Promposal+Contest%3A+Invitation+to+Prom

With some help from his friends Riean Minnich and Elizabeth Brown, Austin Quinn asked his good friend, Elina Lure to Prom. Elina loves the Harry Potter movies and Austin acknowledged this by making a Harry Potter themed promposal by tying a paper letter to an “owl” balloon. Elina was ecstatic and said yes!

We had a chance to sit with the couple and ask about their promposal:

Promposer: Austin Quinn

Eagle Eye: Who did you ask to go to prom with?

Austin Quinn: Elina Lure

EE: Describe in detail how you asked them.

AQ: With thanks to Riean Minnich for helping me come up with an idea, I went to Walmart in search of supplies. I ended up buying a helium tank and filling up a balloon myself. For the promposal, I inflated a white balloon and with help from Elizabeth Brown, had an owl drawn on it. I then tied the balloon to a rolled piece of paper that was designed to look like a Hogwarts acceptance letter, but to the Tyrone Area High School Prom. I hid it in her locker, and waited for her to open it in the morning.

EE: Why did you choose this person?

AQ: I had a great time with her at snowball, and I thought she would like it if someone promposed to her.

EE: Where did you get the inspiration to ask?

AQ: Riean Minnich found the idea, and I thought that it was a really good idea.

EE: What relationship do you have with the person?

AQ: Elina is a very kind and funny person, but we are only friends.

Promposee: Elina Lure

EE: Give us your side of the story. Why do you think they asked you?

Elina Lure: Because it would be impossible to say no to a Harry Potter promposal. I’m their friend and we hang out all the time.

EE: Describe in detail how you were asked and how you felt.

EL: He used a white balloon and got someone to draw Hedwig the owl from harry Potter, on the balloon. He then tied a string from the balloon to a scroll of paper which was an acceptance letter to Hogwarts, but it was really an invitation to prom.

EE: Did you have any suspicions that you were going to be asked by them?

EL: Yes

EE: Why should you win this contest?

EL: Because it was creative and heartfelt. It took a lot of thought and personally, it was the best promposal I could have asked for.
