Eagle Eye Promposal Contest: “Clues” to Prom

Eagle+Eye+Promposal+Contest%3A+Clues+to+Prom

Junior Bryce Bauer asked his close friend sophomore, Ava Focht to prom in a romantic way. Using her love of horses and cheerleading, Bauer made a scavenger hunt for Focht to follow. Four hours of work making a sign, thinking of ideas to write on cards, and then writing them on cards was all worth it, since Bauer will now be going to prom with his close friend.

We had a chance to sit down and talk with the couple about their promposal.

Promposer: Bryce Bauer

Eagle Eye: Who did you ask to go to prom with?

Bryce Bauer: Ava Focht

EE: Describe in detail how you asked them.

BB: I placed note cards in various locations around her house and then texted her to go to her mailbox where she found the first clue. This was then followed by a few other that eventually led to her barn. I was waiting in her barn by Lola, the horse, with a sign and flowers and asked her to prom. My mom helped me by getting the material for the poster and gave me the ideas of where to put the clues. It took 3-4 hours to make the sign.

EE: Why did you choose this person?

BB: I asked her because I’ve really enjoyed talking to her and going to prom with her would be really fun.

EE: Where did you get the inspiration to ask?

BB: I wanted to do something with the things that she likes and cheerleading, and horses came to mind, so i came up with an idea that combines the two.

EE: What relationship do you have with the person?

BB: Really good friends.

Promposee: Ava Focht

EE: Give us your side of the story. Why do you think they asked you?

Ava Focht: I think he asked me because we’ve gotten to be really good friends and would have a fun time.

EE: Describe in detail how you were asked and how you felt.

AF: Bryce left notes for me at different places that led to the barn at my house. When I got there, he was waiting by my horses with a sign and flowers to ask me to prom. I was extremely happy and shocked that he asked me.

EE: Did you have any suspicions that you were going to be asked by them?

AF: I was hoping that he would ask me, but I didn’t think he would.

EE: Why should you win this contest?

AF: The idea that Bryce came up with was really thoughtful and sweet. He combined my love for cheerleading, horses, and kind of tricked me into thinking that I was looking for something else.
