What better way to sponsor the school musical than a promposal that matches the theme? Senior Sage Dixon asked his long time girlfriend and lead actress in Tyrone’s production of Beauty and the Beast, Molly Harris, to prom in the most romantic way possible. During a run through of the play, Sage had some fellow students place roses in front of Molly while he walked out with a sign that read “Be My Guest to Prom?”.  Attached is a video of the promposal.

Promposer: Sage Dixon

Eagle Eye: Describe in detail how you asked them.

Sage Dixon: During one the songs in Beauty and the Beast, Azia Barnett and Logan McKernan handed some of the ensemble members roses. Ethan White snuck a poster designed by Azia Barnett backstage. I grabbed the poster during the short period when we went off stage. When we came back out, the ensemble member placed the roses in front of Molly and I came out last with the poster.

EE: Why did you choose this person to ask?

SD: Because she is my girlfriend and I really wanted to go to Prom with her again this year and I love her.

EE: Where did you get the inspiration for the idea?

SD: I thought about a pun from the musical this year and Azia Barnett helped me plan it out.

EE: What relationship do you have with his person?

SD: She has been my girlfriend for almost a year.

Promposee: Molly Harris

EE: Give us your side of the story. Why do you think they asked you?

Molly Harris: It was an ordinary musical practice until Sage promposed to me during one of the songs. I think he asked me because we both wanted to go to prom together and we love each other.

EE: Describe in detail how you were asked and how you felt.

MH: We were doing a run through of the show and we were running “Be Our Guest” when the ensemble came out with roses. They started dropping them in front of me during the choreography and Sage came out with the sign that said “be My Guest to Prom?”. I obviously said yes. I was so happy and excited.

EE: Did you have any suspicions that you were going to be asked by them?

MH: Since we’ve been dating for almost a year, I knew that we were going to Prom together, however, this promposal really surprised me.

EE: Why should you win the contest?

MH: We should win because this promposal was very unique and it required the participation of many people to make it perfect (which is was).
