Bellwood edges Tyrone in annual “pink” game

Senior Emily Iuzzolino rebounds the ball and sends it down court.

The 3rd annual Pink Game between Tyrone and Bellwood was a hard-fought loss for the Lady Eagles on Monday, January 6th.  The final score was Bellwood 49, Tyrone 43.

“We actually played very tough, [and we] left everything on the floor,” said Tyrone head coach Luke Rhoades, ” We turned the ball over too much, but I liked where we were and how hard we played.  [If we] clean up little things, we can definitely compete with teams that are good as Bellwood.”

The game was clean, yet very physical, between the two long-standing rivals. Each side battled relentlessly from the tip-off until the final buzzer.

We actually played very tough. We left everything on the floor.
