Athlete of the Week: Madi Grazier

Name: Madi Graizer

Sport: Softball

Grade: Senior

Accomplishment: 

Madi hit her first and second career home runs on Wednesday vs Claysburg and on Thursday vs Penns Valley. The first home run was a solo home run and the 2nd was a two run home run.

Madi is a really good player and a great teammate and we were lucky to have her as one of our senior leaders this year. We wish her the very best after graduation and hope at some point she will come back to watch us play.”

Eagle Eye: How did you first get involved in this sport?

Madi Grazier: I got involved when I was in 8th grade. I used to go to the baseball field with my little brother and play catch. I played because I threw better than the boys did!

EE: What other sports do you play?

MG: Volleyball (9th grade)

EE: What’s your favorite sports team?

MG: Michigan Softball

EE: Favorite professional athlete?

MG: University of Michigan pitcher Megan Betsa

EE: Who is your hero? Why?

MG: My Grammy, she is my best friend and I’ve always looked up to her.

EE: What is your favorite band/musician?

MG: I have too many.

EE: What is your favorite movie?

MG: The Notebook

EE: What is your favorite food?

MG: French fries

EE: What advice would you give to younger athletes?

MG: Always stay confident in yourself, high school sports should be fun so give it your all! It will go by faster than you think so make it last!

EE: What are your future goals?

MG: To graduate from Penn State Altoona and major in early childhood and elementary education.
